Description:
Providing in-patient rehabilitation for individuals with challenging behaviours and an acquired brain injury who require behavioural rehabilitation in order to live in the community.
Using a blend of skill training and behavioural approaches, we work with clients to develop and implement individualized behavioural rehabilitation plans that include skill training. Treatment is designed to help clients live in community settings.
The service is located in wheelchair-accessible bachelor-style apartments featuring common kitchen and lounge areas with features to ensure safety for clients and staff.
ABIBS also offers outreach behavioural rehabilitation provided in clients’ home for individuals with challenging behaviours and an acquired brain injury. Using principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis we work with clients who have sustained an acquired brain injury to learn skills to help manage challenging behaviours. Behaviour therapists work with clients, family members, and other caregivers in clients’ homes and workplaces, including residential and long-term care facilities.
Our team includes rehabilitation therapists, nurses, a behaviour therapist, social worker, psychologist, consultant physician, physiotherapist and occupational therapist
