West Park campus is smoke-free

West Park butts out

Smoke Free

May 31, 2017 marked a momentous day for West Park and its commitment to patient and staff health and safety. West Park’s campus became smoke-free. This includes all outdoor space and buildings, including the Long-Term Care Centre and the parking lots, inside or outside vehicles.

Being smoke-free is in keeping with provincial legislation that requires hospitals to be smoke-free. Violating the ban could mean a $305 ticket to individuals and a possible $300,000 fine to the hospital.

Helping staff and patients to butt out

We know it isn’t easy to quit smoking, but the Centre is committed to helping employees, physicians, patients and residents to stop smoking.

Here are some of the current resources available to employees, physicians, patients, volunteers and visitors to help them stop smoking.
